De Anza PBL swept the 2026 California State Leadership Conference in Emeryville — our strongest state performance to date. We claimed the Sweepstakes Award, the Largest State Chapter Award, the Largest Membership Award, and the State of Chapter Award, while our members placed in 16+ individual events.

De Anza PBL's annual Shark Tank competition puts entrepreneurial ideas to the test. Teams had just one hour to build a full business pitch before a live panel of industry judges from Meta, Cisco, McAfee, and Informatica. With 50+ participants across 11 teams, it's the club's most high-energy event of the year.

Over three consecutive service days in Winter 2026, PBL members partnered with Our City Forest to green the Bay Area. The team planted 100 trees, engaged 203 volunteers, and logged 609 volunteer hours — raising $1,000 for urban canopy expansion. The project is projected to deliver $88,018 in long-term community environmental benefit.

PBL members volunteered at Hunger at Home's San Jose kitchen facility, preparing and packaging meals for families in need across the South Bay. Hunger at Home operates one of the region's largest food rescue programs, redistributing surplus food from hotels, stadiums, and convention centers.

De Anza PBL sent one of its largest delegations ever to the 2025 State Fall Leadership Conference in La Jolla, earning the Greatest Membership Award and Conference Attendance Award. The team brought home medals across three events — a preview of what was coming at Spring State.

The 2025 edition of PBL's Shark Tank drew 50 participants across 10 teams, each given just one hour to build and present a full business pitch. Industry judges from Facebook, McAfee, Cisco, and Informatica evaluated teams on market viability, financial modeling, and presentation confidence.

The inaugural De Anza Innovation Summit was a landmark event — the first student-run business case competition hosted at De Anza College. 80+ participants across 21 teams were given five hours to analyze a real-world business challenge and present solutions to a panel of industry executives and Professor Jeffrey West.

De Anza PBL made its mark on the national stage at the 2025 FBLA National Business Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas. 13 teams and individuals competed across multiple business disciplines against chapters from across the country. The chapter brought home 3 national championship titles.

The 2024 Fall Business Leadership Conference in Emeryville marked an early breakthrough for the chapter. De Anza PBL's finance case study team took 1st place against 15 competing teams from across California — signaling the competitive trajectory the club would carry into 2025 and beyond.
